The blocks
What sizes are the blocks?
Giter 5 Block, Eco Block and Ventilation Block: 190 × 250 × 190 mm. Partition Block 12: 120 × 250 × 190 mm. Fert Monta 14: 245 × 275 × 140 mm.
Which block is for external walls, and which for partition walls?
Giter 5 Block and Eco Block build a 250 or 190 mm wall, Partition Block 12 a 120 mm wall. All three are for external and internal walls; the building’s design sets the wall thickness.
Which block goes in a beam-and-block slab?
Fert Monta 14. In a beam-and-block slab, the clay blocks are laid between the beams. One m² of slab takes 14 pieces.
Which block for a chimney or ventilation duct?
Ventilation Block, 190 × 250 × 190 mm, with a flue in the middle and 16 holes round it. Stacked one on another, the blocks’ central flues form the chimney: 5 blocks per metre of height.
Clay block or concrete block?
A clay block is clay fired in a kiln: it does not burn, and the air in its holes slows the passage of heat and sound. Which block to use in your building is for its design to decide.
Does a red clay block insulate, or is extra insulation needed?
The holes in the block hold air and slow the heat passing through the wall. Whether extra insulation is needed is for the building’s design to decide.
Are the blocks made in Kosovo?
Yes, at the Brickos factory in Korminjan, Kamenicë, from clay we dig ourselves.
Do you make solid bricks or perforated bricks?
Brickos does not make solid bricks, only perforated clay blocks. There are five: three for walls, one for chimneys and ventilation, and one for slabs.
Quantities
How many blocks per m² of wall?
Giter 5 Block and Eco Block: 25 pieces in a 250 mm wall, 20 pieces in a 190 mm wall. Partition Block 12: 20 pieces. Fert Monta 14: 14 pieces per m² of slab.
How many pieces on a pallet, and how many pallets on a truck?
A pallet holds 160 pieces, or 240 of Partition Block 12. A truck takes 26 pallets: 4,160 pieces, or 6,240 of Partition Block 12.
How many m² of wall does one truckload build?
With Giter 5 Block or Eco Block, about 166 m² of 250 mm wall, or 208 m² of 190 mm wall. With Partition Block 12, about 312 m² of wall, and with Fert Monta 14 about 297 m² of slab.
How many blocks do I need for a house?
Measure how many m² of wall you have, excluding doors and windows, and multiply by the pieces per m². For example, 100 m² of 250 mm wall in Giter 5 Block takes 2,500 pieces. Or send us the plan and we will work it out.
How much does a pallet of blocks weigh?
From 840 kg (Ventilation Block) to 1,024 kg (Fert Monta 14), not counting the pallet itself. We worked it out from the block weights on the flyer.
Ordering
How much does a red clay block cost?
Brickos does not publish a price per piece. It gives a quote per truckload, by block, quantity and delivery location.
Do you sell direct from the factory?
Yes, by the truckload, to distributors and building companies.
Where do you deliver?
By truck to Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia, Albania and Bulgaria. Transport is priced in the quote; you can also collect the blocks at the factory yourself.
